COUNCIL MEETING

JANUARY 9, 2006

Pres. Winter called meeting to order at 7:30pm.

Members present – Jan Earhart, Craig Farrell, Kathy Lobert, Dave Lund, Esther Collard.

Members absent – Ruth Schottle.

Also present – Pat Herblet, Wally Delamater, Ruth Corwin.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Lund moved to approve agenda as presented.  Lobert seconded, motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENTS – None.

STANDING ITEMS

Minutes – Earhart moved to approve 12-12-05 minutes as presented.  Collard seconded, motion carried.

Bills – Lobert moved to approve bills in amount of $102,931.31 as presented.  Farrell seconded, motion carried.

MONTHLY REPORTS

Police – Written report.

DPW – Written report.

OLD BUSINESS

Bradford Pears (Tree Maintenance) – Manager shared with Council his conversation with Kevin Sawyer, representative of the DEQ tree grant program, and presented more recommendations for acquiring a grant.  After discussion, Earhart moved to proceed with the trimming of the Bradford Pear trees, with help of forester for year 2006, and to continue with tree grant process for year 2007.  Lobert seconded, motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS

Contract Amendment (Harglo Construction) – Manager and Pres. Winter discussed meeting with Village Attorney and Harglo Construction and shared their results.  After discussion, Lobert moved that Village Council authorize Village President to execute the “Addendum to Agreement” between the Village of Lakeview and Harglo Construction, to extend the August 9, 2005 contract completion time in accordance with the terms and conditions contained in the Addendum prepared by Village Attorney.  Lund seconded, motion carried.
