COUNCIL MEETING

APRIL 10, 2006

Pres. Winter called meeting to order at 7:30pm.

Members present – Janet Earhart, Kathy Lobert, Dave Lund, Esther Collard,

Ruth Schottle.

Members absent – Craig Farrell.

Also present – Darin Dood, Wally Delamater, Ruth Corwin.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Sidewalk Bid removed.  Lobert moved to approve agenda.  Lund seconded, motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENTS – None.

STANDING ITEMS

Minutes – Earhart moved to approve minutes of 3-13-06 meeting.  Schottle seconded, motion carried.

Bills – Lobert moved to approve monthly bills in amount of $53,950.69 as presented.  Lund seconded, motion carried.

MONTHLY REPORTS

Police – Written report.  Congratulations were given to Chief Dood for receiving a $10,000 Safety Grant. Chief Dood discussed the rash of vandalism within the village.  Stated that suspects have been caught and things are back to normal.

DPW – Written report.

OLD BUSINESS – None.

NEW BUSINESS

Tree Trimming Bid – Manager stated that bids had been sent out, and three firms responded.  Lund moved to accept the proposal from Asplundh Tree Expert Company for a per hour crew cost of $99.18 for tree removal and $79.18 for dead wood pruning with equipment and man power as specified in bid submittal.  Collard seconded, motion carried.

Traffic Enforcement / Safety Grant – Plans for the $10,000 Safety Grant are to include school speed zone signs, traffic enforcement patrol and various items for safety.  Schottle moved to accept an Office of Highway Safety and Planning Grant in the amount of $10,000, that the grant will be used to purchase and pay for safety equipment, traffic patrol, install school zone warning lights and to fund the operating costs of the safety lights.  Earhart seconded, motion carried.

Manager Information & Comments – Written report.  Each Council Member received a copy of the 2006 Tree Evaluation Report submitted by Dave Breedlove, Forestry Consultant.  Manager stated that there might have to be a short meeting on 4-24-06 to approve a contractor for Parking Lot.

COMMITTEE REPORTS – None.

Pres. Winter declared meeting adjourned at 7:53pm.
