VILLAGE OF LAKEVIEW COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER 12, 2005 Pres. Winter called meeting to order at 7:30pm. Members present - Jan Earhart, Craig Farrell, Kathy Lobert, Dave Lund, Esther Collard, Ruth Schottle. Members absent — None. Also present - Jack Petersen, Wally Delamater, Ruth Corwin. APPROVAL OF AGENDA - Earhart moved to approve agenda as presented. Schottle seconded, motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS - Dave Lund introduced Jack Petersen to Council. Stated he was interested in attending meeting. STANDING ITEMS Minutes - Lund moved to approve minutes of 11-14-05 meeting as presented. Collard seconded, motion carried. Bills - Lobert moved to approve bills in amount of $61,366.85 as presented. Earhart seconded motion. Discussed bills for Police Training, Christmas Decorations, Lake Assessment, Well Purchase, Driveway Repair. After discussion, motion carried. MONTHLY REPORTS Police - Written report. DPW - Written report. OLD BUSINESS Bradford Pears (Tree Maintenance) - Committee met and discussed this matter and presented their recommendations. Lund moved to remove the existing Bradford Pears and new trees be planted. Earhart seconded, motion carried. Schottle moved to authorize the Village Manager to submit a Department of Natural Resources Tree Planting Grant. Lund seconded, motion carried. NEW BUSINESS Water Contract Termination - Manager discussed this project. Water lines are finally in, but the restoration has not been completed. Project is 60 days past deadline at this time. Stated that the State contract with Village can be extended if requested to do so. No action taken at this time. Lt. Dood appeared before
the Council at this time and asked if there were any questions about
police report. Discussed amount of complaints being handled. Liquor License Transfer - Schottle moved that the request from Tanis Investment Company, LLC., transfer owner of escrowed 2005 Class C licensed business with Dance-entertainment Permit, located at 333 S. Lincoln, Lakeview, Mi., 48850, Montcalm County, from Lakeview Hospitality, be approved. Lund seconded, motion carried. Collard moved that the request form Tanis Investment Company, LLC., to allow for the Difference in Hours of Operations Permit not be approved, located at 333 S. Lincoln, Lakeview, Mi., 48850, Montcalm County. Earhart seconded, motion carried. Tamarack District Library Proposal - Manager stated that Tamarack Library will be seeking a Library Operating Millage and a Library Bond Millage Proposal. Library has suggested that the Village waive revenue capture concerning their millage proposals that are in the DDA District. Council discussed this request but made no commitment at this time. MANAGER INFORMATION & COMMENTS - Written report. Manager is to check into request from Village of Kent City concerning Mayor Exchange Day for 2006. Pres. Winter discussed with council the E-mail he received from Mike Shanahan in reference to the Paloma property. Pres. Winter adjourned meeting at 8:35pm. Respectfully Submitted,
